Crap

This not having a laptop thing is total crap.  Hope to update my blog this week sometime whilst it's slow at work.  Wanted to let everyone know that I am alive.  I  know you, my whole 3 readers, were worried.

I'll leave you with this.  Is it ever ok to cropdust someone at their cubical?  The answer is NO my friends, it is NEVER EVER ok. Apparently someone at my work doesn't share the same opinion.

No One Said it Was Easy

Being 30 something and single that is.

Quite honestly, 95% of the time, I love being alone.  I love not having to answer to anyone, doing what I want to do and flirting with whoever I want to flirt with. There is something so freeing about being single, coming home to my apartment, cooking what I want to cook, watching what I want to watch on TV...notice a trend?  I may be a bit selfish.  But that's my right as a single girl!  With that said, I've been struggling lately with not having a man in my life.  It's such an unfamiliar territory for me that I'm sure how to handle it.

Most people know that I was in a very long relationship, somewhere in the 9 year range.  I don't really know the actual length because we took so many breaks.  It took me a few years to really deal with that break-up, About 2 years ago, I bounced back, I was happy with being single and really ready to live my life and I've been having fun ever since.  I've truly enjoyed being single since I hadn't been since I was 16.  I didn't care that so many people around me were settling down, getting married, having kids, sending Christmas cards, having couples nights, saying we instead of I, going to bed a decent hour on weekends and in some cases...feeling sorry for the single girl.  I've never bought into the pressure society puts on 30 something singles, especially girls, to get married.  I think it's complete bullshit.  I was single and I was in heaven!!!

And a big part of me still loves it and finds coupledom gross.  With that said, I'm finding myself wanting that relationship, wanting to be in love and most importantly...wanting to be loved back.  I miss that feeling and that partnership.  So for the past couple months, my heart has been heavy with this issue.  I do have faith that I will meet "him" one day, it's how I deal with singledom until then that I find difficult.  I'm hoping this is just a phase and the feelings will find their way back down deep in my heart and not re-surface until my dreamboat arrives.

So as if having these feelings wasn't enough, I got news last weekend that the shittard I dated for 9 years is getting married.  I almost fainted, he is the last person on earth that should ever get married.  His idea of commitment, well, it doesn't exist.  He's emailed/text me things while they've been together that you shouldn't be doing if you're with someone.   And no, I didn't participate in his shennanigans. Anyways, I didn't take this news very well...I have no desire to get back together with him so I wasn't holding out hope.  It just hurt.  Having these feelings of loneliness and then knowing he's getting married.  (And, she's not even cute!)  I was not prepared to feel that way.  I seriously thought Jesus was playing a joke on me.  I cried...a lot, drank...a lot.  I let myself have a pity part, I at least deserved that. Then Monday morning, I got up, put my big girl panties on and faced the day.  By last night, I had moved on and was feeling good...no more sadness over him getting married, I had dealt with it.  Until...I looked at my phone and have an email from him.  It started with "What's up sexy A" and went on to tell me he's going to be in town in 2 weeks and wants to see me.  Right then, I knew Jesus hated me.  Seriously?  I could not believe that he was doing this, dipshit, you're engaged!  He obviously doesn't know that I'm aware of his pending nuptials.  Part of me thought about meeting him so I could throw a drink in his face, I've always wanted to do that.  But then I realized, seeing him is not a good idea.  So, I responded with..."Will your fiance be joining us?"  I'm guessing I never hear from him again.

To My 6

It's that time of year where you reflect on what you're thankful for, typically is alcohol and sex for me but I thought I'd switch it up this year.

The older I get the more I realize how blessed I am to have such an amazing group of people I consider my true friends.  These people are all amazing in their own way and truly love me for who I am.  You don't find many people that accept you for exactly who you are and celebrate you as a person.  I am lucky to have 6.  The bonds I share with them are extraordinary, there's a saying that friends are your chosen family and if I do say so myself, I chose well.  Whether it's a broken heart, a personal dilemma or a disappointing football season, they've been there every step of the way.  There is not a single group of people that can make me laugh more than they do...I'm talking pee in the pants kind of laughter.  It's a great feeling that no matter what I face in this life, I have these 6 to stand behind me.

Cindy, Mindy, Kelly, Camille, Mark and Becky....my besties, I love you so much and my life wouldn't be the same without you.  Thank you all for just being you.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Misc.

Busy times in this girls life.  Not too much to report.
  • Work was crazy busy for awhile, finally calming down.
  • Celebrated my grandpa's 85th birthday, amazing.  (Pretty sure my mother was not feeling amazing the next morning.)  All of our family was there, my uncle surprised us and flew in from Cali.  It was fab.  And to watch my gramps look around the room, like he was taking a mental picture,  while we sang him happy birthday, was priceless.
  • Sammy had his first T-Wolves performance, he rocked it per usual.  It's too bad the wolves suck a big fat one.
  • Halloween came and went, am I the only one who doesn't give a hoot about it?  Over it.
  • You know what else came and went?  #84.  Don't get me started.  Going to the game this Sunday, it's the first time EVER that I have not even wanted to go to a game I have tickets for.  It's so disappointing...my friend and I are going to make signs that say KILL CHILL.  We're thinking it may get us put in the hoosegow but we're ok with that.  And she is adamant that we boo when Childress comes on the field.  She's about 4 foot nothing and I'm convinced I'm ganna end up in fight because she mouths off to someone.   Hah!
  • My weekends of having no free time are beginning again...not sure when they stopped actually.  I guess husband hunting will have to wait until next year.
I think that's it for now...

Peace

Big Fat

Disappointment.  The GD Vikings.  We have so many good players on our team and can not get our shit together.  What is the deal?  I think it's time to look at our coaching staff.  I'm thinking about moving to another state so I can follow a team that doesn't make Sundays, slit my wrists day.  If Moss and/or Percy leave, I will become a fan of their new teams.  I hate fairweather fans, I think they're lame.  I pride myself on being a true a fan, no matter what, but seriously?  How long can a person do that.  Disappointment, it's a bitch.

That Time of Year

It's 6:30 and it's pitch dark outside.  It's that time of year.  The time of year when you go to work and it's dark outside and when you get home from work it's dark, when everything is the color of poop, when we're all bracing ourselves for another long ass winter and the time of year when the liquor store loves me because I increase their sales by 1000%.

Windy

Worst. Date. Ever.

One word:  WINDPANTS

Who the eff wears windpants on a first date?  Granted our "date" was at a sports bar, but really?  I almost fainted when I saw him.  It was like I was frozen in my tracks.  And from then, things just went downhill.  He shouted when he talked and didn't stop talking for one second.  Then he accused me of not talking.  I finally told him, I can't talk because you don't shut up.  He laughed, apparently he thought I was joking.  He knew everyone at the bar, workers, patrons, everyone but then claimed that he hardly ever drinks.  Um, are you sure?  Because I think you've slurred your words 10 times.

About 30 minutes into our "date" he informed me that he didn't want to have kids.  I said, well, that's a deal breaker for me.  I want to have kids and won't budge on that.  He said, well, it's not that I'm dead set against it, I just don't know.  I said, again, I do know and need a man that knows.  I then said, I'd like to adopt also...he looked at me like I had a penis and asked, why would you want to adopt?  NEEEXXXTTT.

I told my mom she better have money saved up for a dowry because they're arranging a marriage for me.  I'm never going on a date again.

COTW

I missed last week...I'm making up for it today.  This man stole my heart 12 years ago and I've never gotten it back.  It's not that I think he's this hot stud, it's that his skills as a football player make him absolutely delicious. He has been my all time favorite player since 1998, that will never waiver.  (Don't worry Percy, I'd still give you the red light special.)  When he left, I cried...no, that's not a joke.  Stop laughing.  Just that there's a chance he could be back in purple, has made my entire week....shit, my entire year.  I love you boo!

YES!!!

Had a good weekend!  Finally feeling back to normal.  Friday I went to Rojo with a girlfriend...we were actually able to sit outside, with the help of a few heat lamps.  I know soon enough I won't even want to look outside let alone sit on a patio.  Anyhoo...I ordered a large margarita and munched on some food, I was in heaven  It was delish, I can't wait to go back, preferably when it's less busy. It was an hour wait inside, hence the patio sitting.  But, when I was in bed by 10 I realized I'm not so cool. ( I did make up for that on Saturday night however.)

I woke up Saturday feeling great, did some cleaning and then headed to my step-cousin's wedding.  After an HOUR, yes an HOUR drive in the car...I was ready to cut a bitch.  I didn't even make it in time for the wedding.  Considering the wedding was only one city away, the fact that it took me an hour to get there is something I can't comprehend.  I swear to God, if they close one more GD road, I'm writing my mayor.  Anyone know who that is for Bloomington?  I wasn't going to go into the wedding because I was not about to walk in as the bride was walking down the aisle.  So I sat in my car until I finally got the ok from brother via text.  After that we headed to the reception, enjoyed food, drinks, dancing, drinks, laughs and more drinks.  It ended pretty early, for some reason I wasn't able to drive home so my friend Cindy picked me up and we headed to a bar by my house.  Somehow, I was up til 4am and may have drunk dialed every person I know.  If you didn't get a call consider yourself lucky.

I spent Sunday at my mom and step-dads hanging out with my step-dad's family.  More to come about that in a future blog!  A little hint...I'm now black.

Weekend Roundup

It was nice to have a busy weekend, I've been holed up in my apartment for so long, being out and about was refreshing.

Friday night I went over to Cindy's house....she is always working on a project in or for her house.  I think it keeps her sane.  Mostly she just creates a lot of work for herself but, to each their own.  She asked if I'd come over and help get some things organized and work on a bulletin board.  Done and done.  There may have been a cocktail or two in there also.  I also showed her this.

Saturday was girls day...Cindy and Mindy picked me up and we headed to Cooks of Crocus Hill in Edina for our cooking classes.  First up, Knife Skills.  Back up, first up, my seat is next to the only gay in the class...of course. Obviously, I turned to him said "hello, please don't cut me."  The look on his face was priceless and he was literally speechless.  It took him a second/several minutes/he never really did to "get me."  So, knife skills...in all honesty, I was a little scared once the chef said it was our turn to start cutting.  Especially since my partner was shaky shakerson (my little mindy has always had quite the shaky hands, she "claims" it's normal.)  I was surprised how well I did, I love the new techniques he taught us.  We thought I had cut myself at one point but no worries, it was just a carrot peel.  Phew.  We had an hour brake in between classes so we headed over to Fringe, it's a fun little jewlery shop that I love!  I may or may not have bought something(s).  The second class was searing.  We didn't do any hands on during that class but learned so much.  And we got to eat steak. Mooooo.  After cooking class we headed to BW3 and met Mindy's hubby for dinner.  He likes my new boobs.

Sunday was my grandparents 60th anniversary party...I had to leave at the crack-o-ass because church started at 9:00am.  Church was followed by lunch and dessert.  I got a chance to talk with my grandma for a little while.  I learned so much about her parents and my grandpa's parents, their childhoods, and  their courtship. My grandparent's are awesome!  I refuse to believe they'll ever be gone.

I got to see my nephews, they get cuter every second.  I sat next to Keegan during church, he was HIghlarious!  When it was quiet he said "wook dayjay (he calls me dayjay...melts my heart) new socks.  I didn't understand what he said so he repeated it again and again.  His mom finally told me he got new socks.  Another time is was quiet and he belched like he was at a bar, that caused me to get the giggles and I couldn't stop laughing.  Riley was of course less than pleased to in church, it looked like he was in excruciating pain.  They need to stop growin, I can't take it. I just got a text from my SIL, Keegs pooped in the potty all by himself, he's all growed up.  Tear.

Just to watch Chelsea Latley.  She literally just pulled her dress down to show her cookies during her monologue.  Bobby Lee and Ross Mathews are on the panel tonight.  I die.

COTW

Since I'm angry about football right now, I'm taking a break.  I just finished the entire series of The Wire.  One of the best dramatic shows ever made.  So, I'm dedicating this COTW to all the men of the show.  They got me through my surgery recovery.  RARRRRR!

So

How's about an update since I suck ass at blogging lately?

*Recovery is a bitch.  And I mean that.  A big fat asshole.  Had a bad reaction to the tape so now there's all kinds of crap going on.  The tape literally started to eat my skin.  Missed 3 days of work this week.  Couldn't wear a shirt or bra for 3 days.  Developed a hole in my incision because the stitches wanted to come out.  Had them removed.  Scabs.  Ooz.  Pain.  Itch.
*Had a blast at my cousin's wedding.  May have drank too much.
*Have 2 more weddings in October.  2 more opportunities for me to contemplate fashioning a noose during the boquet toss.
*The Vikings are sucking a big fat one.  Not even going to waste anymore time on that.
*I have two cooking classes on Saturday, one is knife skills...ahahaha, that will be comical.  I'm not sure what the second one is, I can't remember, we signed up so long ago.  Maybe recipes using ramen noodles.  I'm poor.
*A few boys from the past popping up, not sure what that's about.  Apparently they don't understand that they were removed from the fridge.
*What the eff is up with people wearing glasses with big black frames and no lenses.  You look dumb.  Knock it off.
*Have you ever seen John Travolta's baby picture?  It's one of the creepiest things I've ever seen.  Just proves what I've always believed, that man is an alien.  You'll have to google it, I'm not posting that on my blog.
*GLEE + BRITNEY = PEE IN MY PANTS ---It's ganna be major!

Crap, Mondo is crying on Project Runway and I don't why.  Gotta go.

Misc.

* Feeling a little defeated today.  Just one of those days where things don't go your way.  Home from work today, shitty night last night.  My right boob is acting up.  Can't wait until this is all over. My STD claim got messed up which in turn messes with my money.  Bent another fingernail all the way back and not only did it hurt, it broke...it was my longest one.  Anyone who knows what it's taken for me to grow my nails, knows how devestating this is! :)

*On the positive side, got to eat at one of my favorite mom and pop shops on Saturday.  It was my first time sitting in a booth since surgery and my boobs DIDN'T touch the table!  It was amazing.  I never wanted to sit in a booth because it's so uncomfortable for me and embarassing.  No longer my friend.

*Football season has started, need I say more?  I love every minute of it.  I don't just watch the Vikings...I try to watch all the games and MNF is the best!  (Monday Night Football for all you novices) Fall weather, football, cute guys in tight pants...ahhh, it's like God created it just for me.

*My first days back at work last week went good, it was quiet in my department so I got to ease back into things.  It feels good getting back into a routine again.  I missed my co-workers too, so nice to see them again.

*Is it just me or does Christmas preperation get earlier every year?!  In the matter of a few days, my December weekends completely filled up.  I went shopping with my mom on Saturday and all I could do was think about Christmas presents I need to buy.  I was like, wait a minute....it's September for pete's sake.  Jeeze.

*I have my cousins wedding this weekend, really not looking forward to getting dressed up, I feel like I look so silly in anything I wear.  Plus I'm wearing a dress from last year, should be interesting to see how the girls look in it! hah!

*Next weekend is my grandparents 60th anniversary party...60 years, can you imagine?  Usually I'm annoyed by guys in 60 minutes.

*Most of you know I'd skin Chelsea Handler and wear her if I could, I'd even convert to lesbianism if she batted that way.  And no, I'm not already a lesbian if that's what you're thinking.  Just because I'm 31 and single doesn't mean I muff dive.  Jesus.  Anyways, she hosted the VMA's last night, I usually don't watch them because they annoy me but I wasn't going to miss a chance to see Chels.  I was SO excited, she's never let me down.  Until, last night.  So disappointing.  They're saying she's the worst host they've ever had, I don't buy that but she certainly wasn't herself.  So sad.  The show itself was pretty boring.  Oh well.

Resuming Life

I'll be heading back to work tomorrow.  I'm not completely healed or feeling 100% but I think I'm ready to get things back to normal.  Whatever normal is.  Sleeping is still annoying and the pain sucks but I'm feeling much better.  I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I changed my tape yesterday, it was fun to see the incisions.  When the doctor did it, I was laying down and didn't get to see too much.  I can tell there is still a long way to go with the healing but all in all it looked pretty good.

I'm a little worried about the greasiness that is my hair.  It has been absolutely horrible since surgery, I know it's from the anesthesia but it will not go away.  How am I suppose to go to work with this crap?  Can't really hide it.  Plus, I can't shower every day, it's too painful.  Dear lord this could be interesting.  Wish me luck.

BORED and Overwhelmed

Boredom has officially and set in.  I'm sick of laying around and watching tv, which is saying a lot because it's my favorite pastime.  It is nice to be off of work but really, I can't do anything so it's not that great.  My body is jello from not doing anything or being active, I'm ganna have a rude awakening when my normal life resumes.

I have been completely overwhelmed by all the love and support I've received from people.  Phone calls, emails, texts, cards, gifts...I'm amazed at how caring people are.  It's made me re-evaluate myself and question whether I give enough. I feel so blessed to have so many people care, it's a great feeling.

Update on my condition.  Pain has been the same, not fun.  Saw the doctor today, he said it's totally normal and it hurts because I'm getting the feeling back.  He took the tape off of the incisions (super fun) and said everything looks great.  He cleaned the incisions with alcohol (again, super fun) and put new tape on.  I'll be changing my own tape from now on.  I go back to see him in a month and at that time he'll know how long I'll have to wear the tape.  Usually it's around 3 months.  Still no feeling in my left nipple and my right nipple has become SO sensitive it's kinda funny.  He said that's usually what happens.  The nipples either have no sensation or they are hyper sensitive.  I got one of each.  The incisions are burning, not horribly bad but they feel raw, if that makes sense?  Again, totally normal.  He gave me the ok to start taking Motrin with my percocets, that was music to my ears.  With the leg pains and now period cramps I was longing for some ibuprofen.

I made it out for dinner last weekend, my mom picked me up and we met my step-dad, younger brothers and my oldest brother and his family.  It was a big deal for me, my first outing!  We went to my favorite restaurant, Lucky's 13...YUMMM!  I got to see my nephews, I can't even deal with their cuteness.  I die.  It was a bit much to be sitting straight up that long so I was happy to get home.

One good thing is that I'm starting to like my boobs, they're still pretty ugle and swollen but I think they're going to look pretty.  Probably a little smaller than I would like but if I can lose the 423lbs I want to lose, they'll look perfect on my body.

Slight Obsession

For as long as I can remember, my mom and step-dad always have english muffins in the house.  I rarely buy them, maybe whole  wheat ones when I'm trying to watch what I eat.  When I was staying at their house after surgery, my mom made me one with my favorite...peanut butter and homemade raspberry jam.  So when my mom went grocery shopping for me I requested english muffins and the homemade jam.  I can't stop eating them. It's become a problem.

Now, you're probably asking yourself, did she really just write a blog about english muffins?  I sure as shit did.  You know why?  Because I'm going insane.  I can't sleep and have to find ways to entertain myself.

Crush of the Week

I've been slacking on the crush of the week.  I'm wishing Percy a speedy recovery and if he needs somewhere to recover, my bed is wide open.

Ugh

I never would've thought that the second week of recovery would be more painful than the first.  Really it's just a different kind of pain.  It feels like my ribs and incisions were hit by a bus.  And the shooting pains?  For the birds.  The swelling has gone down a lot and they're not as hard either.  I couldn't sleep last night to save my life, my legs hurt so bad.  I was so pissed.  I tried sleeping in my bed on the recliner and finally the couch.

Two girlfriends came to visit today along with my mother.  It was great to have some interaction with people besides the Jimmy Johns delivery guy. I can't wait to find out what my AC bill is going to be.  The percocet makes me sweat/hot like crazy.  I just can't get cool enough.  I'm looking forward to my cousin stopping over tomorrow night with her twin girls, they'll definitely make me smile!  And there's a possiblity I could see my nephews on Saturday which would put me over the moon.  Not sure if you know, but I have the cutest nephews..ever!  They're going out to dinner with my mom and step-dad, I'm just not sure if I can make it out that long.  Considering how much energy it takes to wipe my ass it may be a bit too much.  We'll have to see how it plays out.

Well time for another exciting night of sleep.  Wish me luck.

Update

I promised myself I would update my blog through this boob process but I haven't done so well.  I wanted to be able to look back and remember what the journey was like.  I'll try to do better.  No I won't.

Today is a bad day, not horrible but the incisions hurt.  I'm having lots of pains in my legs and back from all the laying and sitting.  Plus, I'm never in a "normal" position so I'm sure my body is out of whack.  My boobs are very yellow, it's so fun to look at them and see all the shades of color.  I have feeling in my right nipple, nothing however in my left.  There's no telling if I'll ever get feeling back.  I do have feeling in the actual boob though.  They itch like crazy, non-stop!  Bending is very difficult and I'm not suppose to be doing it.  So I try not to but being alone, I have to sometimes.  I've been taking mini walks outside just to get me out of the apartment, it's been so gorgeous out.  I'm way down on my pain meds, 1-2 a day.  Today maybe more.  The body image issues are still plagueing me but I'm confident I'll get through it.

I can't wait to the official pics from the doctor.  I have taken some before and afters but his will be so much better!  My next appt is on the 25th, he'll remove all my tape and then teach me how to put it on myself and what to do.  I have to wear tape on the incisions for 3 months.

Time to go itch.  Peace.

I'm sorry, who are you?

That's what I say every time I look in the mirror.  My body is completely foreign to me.  I wasn't quite prepared for the journey that this has become.

My mom took me to surgery last Tuesday, August 10th.  It was not at the hospital but at their surgery center next to the clinic...this is Edina people, no hospitals for us!  It started with the usual very stylish outfit that included underwear similar to a napkin with elastic, an IV that a vein couldn't be found for, nerves, giggles, maybe a tear or two.  I was very nervous the day before but the day of, I was relatively calm.  I was so stressed with wrapping things up at work, I think that's what made me so nervous.  I've never been awake in an operation room, this was a first for me.  I walked right into the room, saw all the knives, drugs, gauze, etc.  It didn't really bother me, I've never had a hard time with blood, hospitals or things of that nature.  Christ, I watched my surgery several times on youtube before I had it done.  But, the room was a little creepy and freaking cold.  Then I stepped up onto the bed, which was heated and had some sort of comfy blanket on it, I felt like I was going to get a massage, I was waiting for them to hit play on the Yanni cd.  They put the oxygen mask on and the doc came over and grabbed my hand.  The next thing I knew, I was awake in the recovery room.  Who the hell knows what I was mumbling about to the staff, I remember going on and on about my sweatpants and how great they were.  Finally they let my mom come back.  I was so happy to see her, she always makes everything ok.  All together, surgery and recovery was about 4 hours long.

A short version of what they did is cut an anchor shape across each breast, I also requested that my side boobs be removed by cutting instead of lipo.  So my incisions go back much further than most people's.  They cut your areolas almost completely off.  They take the fat, tissue and excess skin out and then pull your boobs together.  I have internal stitches and surgerical tape holding the outsides together.  I suggest googling it if you'd like to understand what the hell I just said.

I spent Tuesday through Saturday at my mom and step-dads.  My mom took a few days off of work and my brothers and step-dad helped out when needed.  I spent most of my time in their recliner, which they brought over to my apartment, it's the most comfortable thing for me.  Surprisingly the pain hasn't been the biggest issue, don't get me wrong, it hurts. But a majority of the annoyance comes from not being able to get comfortable which means not a lot of sleep and difficulty in  finding a position to sit, stand or lay.  Finding a bra to wear has been damn near impossible, dear lord.  Everything is too tight around my ribs so it hurts to breath, everything touches the incisions.  It's so annoying!!!  Getting dressed isn't the easiest and don't get me started on wiping---there's no easy way to do it--from the front?  Nope.  From the back?  Nope.  Sideways, upside down, backwards?  NO.  It is so painful to reach so I'm becoming an advocate of drip drying.  Something else?  Now that the skin from my armpit has been pulled down, my armpit hair is on the side of my boob.  Sexy is what that is.

I'm down to one or 2 pain meds a day, which is a big change from 2 every 4 hours on the dot.  I rented a bunch of movies.  My back and neck hurt from constantly sitting but I go for mini walks around my apartment and patio.  It's exciting.  I'm probably the most unhappy I've ever been with my body.  It's a difficult adjustment.  My boobs are going to look great and be perky and fun, I'm not worried about that.  Although I've cried a few times because I'm worried they're going to be too small.  Taking the boobs away has made the rest of my problem areas that much more visible.  I mean seriously, all of a sudden I have a fat ass, like where did that come from???  And don't get my started on my stomach.  I know it was all there before but it looks different now.  It's been really hard for me to deal with.  At the same time, it's motivated me to lose weight more than anything else ever has.  I just want immediate gratifcation.  :)

Am I happy I did the surgery?  Not quite yet, I know I will be, I have no doubt.  I just need time to get use to it.  I may be a little down but I'm mostly excited for this new journey and to have some new girls to show off.  I can not thank my mom enough for her support, physically and emotionaly.  She was there for every ouch, fever, crying session, and all the other craziness that came from this surgery.  I can never repay her, I love you mucho momms.  I would post pics on here of before and after but I don't want my girls floating around on the world wide web.  If you would like to see, please email me, I'm not shy to share.  And one last thing, I got measured before the surgery. I was a 38J.  Yes, that's right.  Not sure what I am now, probably around a D.  Once the swelling goes down, I'll have a better idea.

Time for a percocet and nap!

They can all take me...

There is not one man in this movie that I have not had a crush on. Paul Walker?  Idris Elba?  Jay Hernandez?   Michael Ealy?  TI?  I die.  Chris had to get crossed out.  Don't me wrong, I like a little slap and tickle but biting and choking isn't my thing.  You throw in Mark Wahlberg and Percy Harvin and it's a gang bang made in heaven.

The movie is Takers and comes out August 27th, don't contact me the 27th, 28th or 29th...I'll be busy.

D-Day

Surgery has been scheduled...August 10th and the girls will be gone. I can't believe how nervous I am.  I can't believe in less than 2 weeks my body will look completely different.  I hope I don't wake up with 6 nipples and 1 areola.

Friendship Days

I can't believe how long it's been since Friendship Days, time has flown by.  I should've blogged about it right away because my memories of the weekend have faded quite a bit.  I don't think anyone reads this blog who doesn't know what Friendship Days is but incase my blog has become wildly popular, it's the town celebration in Nicollet, MN.  Since a lot of my family lives there, I try to make it every year especially now that my dad owns a bar there.

I took Friday off of work so I could participate in the annual golf tournament.  No, I did not golf, golf intersts me about as much as chess.  I do however love me a golf cart, alcohol and sun.  My cousin Kelsey and I drove a cart around, took pics and handed out jello shots.  We had a blast.  I love that girl.  Toward the end of the golf tourney storms started coming in.  It got pretty bad, we lost power at the golf club and it was hailing.  I wasn't nearly drunk enough, I had planned on working the beer tub at the bar that night so I tried to stay somewhat sober.  Bad idea.  My father decided we should leave the golf club and head back to town right after the storm passed.  Turned out to be a super fun ride, one that involved me crying in the back seat and hyperventalating.  Apparently my father does not need to be able to see the road when he drives.  Eventually we made it back to town and there was no power.  I didn't end up working that night because it was pretty slow at the bar, everyone was probably still in their basements.  My friend Cindy came down after being stuck in Belle Plain in a gas station for 2 hours.  We went to bed early that night, we had a long weekend ahead of us.

Saturday morning my friend Abby met Cindy and I for a cancer walk out at the high school.  It was a 5k and a nice way to start the day.  Although it was a little muggy and my ass was sweating.  We headed to Rapid Ricks for breakfast and then Abbs took off.  That afternoon Cindy and I headed down to my grandpas to set up for my cousins surprise 40th bday party.  Then it was off to work at the bar.  But of course the GD rain set in again so we couldn't do the beer tub.  We did end up helping inside, because it got very busy.  I did manage to get very intoxicated while working, oops.  Sunday morning was a potluck at the bar for my dad's family.  I was slightly hungover and not quite sure I was going to be able to ride on the float my dad was having for the bar.  But, my super smart aunt made cheesy potatoes, I ate LOTS of them and it cured my hangover along with a carafe of water.  The float was so fun, I'm always a spectator at the parade but this year I got to see it from the other side.  I was a little bummed because my mom's family all sat together since my grandpa was the grand marshall of the parade this year.  We had t-shirts made and it was so cool to see them all in their t-shirts sitting together. I was a little sad I missed out.

All in all, it was a fun weekend, different than the years past because it was so jammed packed and I didn't drink nearly as much captain as usual.  Once Monday came, I was kicking myself in the ass, like I do every year for not taking Monday off.  Note to self for next year.

My favorite invention

I get headaches, a lot and they suck.  Nothing helps, except maybe a cocktail and a percocet and since I don't want to end up on A&E's Intervention, that's not an option.  I bought this little gadget at one of my favorite stores, Patina, and while it doesn't make my headache go away, it does aleviate some of the pain when I use it.  They're cheap, I suggest you all get one ASAP.

I may need to start crush of the day--there's too many cute boys to choose from!

1st Competition

I convinced 2 of my friends to get the Nike+ and we started our first competition last Monday.  Whoever can walk the most miles in one month is the winner.  My friend Mindy came out of the gates balls to the wall.  I think she's walking at night instead of sleeping.   So it's the end of week one and I'm at 18.96 and she's at 22.28.  Poor, poor Cindy is at 7.24.  She has literally been working night and day, 7 days a week, so she's at a definite disadvantage.  I just can't catch up to Mindy, that little turd.  I will though, I'm not ganna lose...I'm going walking tomorrow with a walk-a-holic, she got me into the Nike+ and is a superstar walker.  So watch out Ms. Mindy...I'm comin' after ya.

My favorite low-carb snack

My cousin introduced me to this recipe, they're insanely good.  I am trying to watch what I eat and am always looking for new snacks instead of fruit, veggies, nuts, and string cheese.   I made these tonight and used turkey sausage instead of regular sausage.  I didn't have low-fat cream cheese otherwise I would've used that.  They're perfect for a snack, especially when you're trying to eat low carb.  I'm worried I may eat them all tonight.

Have you been to Monaco?

I went to Spalon Montage on Friday to get my hair did and 5 minutes into my visit I was reminded why I don't go there.  While I sat in the massage chair, getting my hair washed, I had a chance to eavesdrop on the conversation happening between the woman and male stylist next to me.  The woman, who I assume to be a cake eater, was so glitzed out I couldn't see straight and the stylist had the longest dreds I've ever seen, wrapped up on top of his head, similar to a bee hive.  She proceeds to ask..."have you been to Monaco lately?"  He responds with, "no, I haven't, I just got back from Dubai though, it was fabulous."  She then rambles on until she was foaming at the mouth about her vacation to Monaco.  He then says, "I was asked to do Mr. Armani's show in Monaco a couple weeks ago but I had to turn it down because I had a show in Las Vegas I already committed to."  I thought about asking my stylist to drown me in the sink but opted against it.  I didn't want to get Mrs. Monaco wet.  She'd probably melt.

Summer Salad

Summer means it's time for my favorite salad.  There is a more complicated recipe for this salad but I choose not to take that route.   Toast some almonds, I just throw them in a pan and heat for a few minutes.  You don't need to add anything to make them toast because they have enough oil in themselves.  Chop some strawberries,  Chop some red onion.  Take some lettuce, whatever kind you'd like...I use the spring mix, it has spinach and some other green crap.  Combine all ingredients and add poppyseed dressing.  I would eat this everyday, 12 times a day if I could.  But...poppyseed dressing isn't the healthiest dressing--if one even exists.

To get me thru the day...

I've been thinking about all the things I'm looking forward to in the coming weeks/months.

*My first Twins game at the new stadium this week.  I got tickets through work and got to pick the game I wanted to go to, I of course picked one versus the Yankees.  It's on Thursday so I took Friday off of work which gives me a 4 day weekend for memorial day. I found out one of my besties is also going to the game so it should be a very fun game.  I do believe McDonald's has some good seats!
*Going to see Sex and the City 2 this Friday.  I'm going by myself during the day, I can not wait!  If you aren't aware, I was quite obsessed with the show back in the day and know the all the episodes by heart.  I'm pretty sure it drives my friends nuts.
*Flea market this Saturday.  There is a flea market in Elko that my mom and I have gone to for years.  It's so awesome, a lot of shit to sift through but you can find that gem.
*It's my last week of physical therapy...even though I have like going because it is a good workout, I'm relieved to have to deal with it anymore.
*My 5k in June, assuming I can still do it which also happens to be the same day as my awesome cousin Emily's graduation party.
*Keg stands at Emily's grad party.
*Friendship Days, with my dad owning the bar this year, I have a feeling it's going to be a crazy, long weekend.  I only took Friday off but am thinking I'm going to regret not taking Monday off.  Eek.
*4th of July trip with my mom's family, I can not wait to go to Woman Lake and do nothing but lay out, drink and laugh!  We'll be there for an entire week, all the bikers will ride during the day and the people that have common sense will stay back and enjoy the quietness.
*Pedal pub at the end of July...it should be highly comical.
*My boobie surgery...please pray it gets approved and I can't wait to get rid of these bags.

Bring it on summer!  I'm blessed! I need a nap now.

Sunday Blahday

It's suppose to be Sunday Funday....my friend Cindy and I decided that Sundays this summer would consist of laying out at my pool, reading, and relaxing.  Today was suppose to be the first one, I was so excited considering I look albino.  But no, it's dreary, grey and gross out.  Hot, muggy, gross.  So, I've been cooped up in my apartment all day, I literally haven't done a thing besides watch TV, nap, and play on the computer.  I am officaly the laziest person on earth.  Maybe that's why I have a fupa.

So, I've had some time to reflect on a few things.

1.  Why does everyone think Gisele Benkdajfhdio;ajfd (Bündchen) is so hot?  I don't get it, I never have.  Does she have an amazing, fupaless body?  Yes.  But put a bag on her head and call it a day.
2.  Watching the Jersey Shore does make you dumber.
3.  I put decorations up yesterday for my friend Cindy's birthday party and I kinda like them.  I think I'll leave them up.
4.  I haven't felt the same since my heart "episode" and think I should make a will.  I've had nothing but weird ailments since it happend.  Please don't forget, I want to be stuffed, not buried or cremated.
5.  Physical therapy has not made my boobs smaller or made my neck feel better or lesesn my headaches.
6.  Speaking of headaches, they are the anti-christ and I am happy to not have one today, it's been a long week of bad headaches. I need to buy an icepack, homeade ones leak.

K, bye.

Ses!

My little Ses or Seth to most people, is 17 years old and attended his first prom last weekend.  I managed to not cry, unlike his 16th birthday when I wept like a baby.  He looked so handsome and his date was gorgeous!  Watching him pose for pictures, so many memories flooded through my head, it's amazing how fast my brothers have grown up...meanwhile I don't feel like I've aged a bit.

I know to Seth, I'm just his weird, annoying, obnoxious, weird, goofy sister but to me, he's my Ses.  I don't have favorites when it comes to my younger brothers, I love them both so much but I have different bonds with each of them.  My mom had Seth when I was 14, we had just moved to Boston and I didn't know my ass from my face.  Seth was the light of my life, I formed a bond with him when we lived there that has never gone away. Unknowingly, he has helped me through some of the toughest times in my life.  He'll always be my little Ses, even if he gets married before me.

I'd like to wish a happy birthday to my ex-boyfriend...

I hope you have herpes and elephantitis of the balls.

Alright...Where to Start?

I had a list going of blogs I wanted to write once I got back to blogging, but of course I can't find it.  I'm sure it was all very important, mind blowing, world changing topics but since I can't find it, I'll talk about something even better...me attempting to become a runner. If you're anything like my mother, you just fell off your chair.  I'll give you a second to pick yourself up off the floor.

I don't even know how this came about...I think because one of my friends, Kelly, ran the Princess Half Marathon in Disney this year and she said she absolutely loved it.  I was amazed at this feat, like my friend Camille says..."why run that far unless you're being chased."  That's the motto I've lived by for a long time.  I dabbled in running in college and didn't mind it, but after college was done so was running.  I had been looking for something to get involved in and wanted something that would keep me active.  I just decided one day, I'm ganna start running and my main goal would be the Disney Half Marathon. It was weird, something in me just clicked and I knew it was going to be my "thing."

I of course was scared shitless, so many things going through my mind; I can barely get up off the couch, how am I going to RUN 13.1 miles?  I'm so overweight, how the hell can I make my body run?  What happens when my boobs start  knocking me the face while running and give me bruises, do I admit that to people or say I have an abusive boyfriend?  I decided I'd go with the abusive boyfriend, no one would stare at my chest when I told them that.  Anyways...I was assured I could do it from Kelly who said that she's never been a "runner" and if she can do it so can I.  I figured I had a year to train and that should be plenty.  For a half marathon in February, I'd need to start training in November.  I would start slowly, get my body use to exercising and being active, do a 5k over the summer, have my breast reduction in August, recover, go back to exercising and then start the official training in November.  My mother advised that I start the couch to 5k program or C25K for all you followers out there.  And so, I drank the Kool-Aid.

I started the C25K in March, it's 9 weeks of training, starting with just running a minute at a time and on your last day running a 5k.  You do 3 training sessions a week, with a day of rest in between.  I planned it perfectly so my last day of training would be the 5k I decided to run.  It's for the Make Wish Foundation and happened to be at the very lake I walk at right by my house.  Perfect.  I got a iPod Nano for my birthday, bought my Nike+ and I was good to go.  I was so nervous to start, I thought there would be NO way I could even run a minute.  I was amazed at how well I did.  Minus my pants constantly falling down, my ear phones falling out, and my boobs scaring people.  I now wear shorts that don't fall, bought new headphones that stay on and my boobs?  Well, they always scare people.  I made it to my 2nd session in week 5 last week and then had a heart episode so I have to take a break until I have a stress test.  But, I made it through every single session and I never stopped during any of the times I was running.  I was so proud of myself.  Now, it kinda sucks, I'm off this week and next, hoping that I get the ok next week to start again.  I hope to god I can catch up and do my 5k in June or I'll be so bummed.  Wish me luck!

I Miss.....

BLOGGING!!! I am still without Internet at home, so everything I do online is done either at work or on my phone. I definitely dont have time to blog at work nor would I cross that line if I did, and it's a pain to type blogs on my phone! I'm trying to save money so Internet and cable went bye bye. But, I decided i just cant live without Internet and will be getting it back very soon. Just have to figure out a time i can sneak away from work so I can be home during the 62 hour time frame they give as to when they'll arrive to install it.

Best Thing Ever

I'm not a huge candy fan, I crave it every once in a while but other than that, I dont eat it. I'm not a girl that needs her chocolate, in fact i don't really like chocolate. But theres one time a year when a certain candy takes over my life and that's Easter. You see my friend, this little company called Hershey makes the best thing ever. Reeses peanut butter eggs. I dont even like Reeses peanut butter cups but there's something about the eggs that make my toes curl (at least something does.) I'm trying to stick to a eating plan but these little suckers are messing it up. I figure that if they're only available once a year, I need to make the most of it.

TP & PT

Honest to pete, why the hell do toilet paper and paper towels cost so freaking much? I mean, aren't they both made of paper? You can get a 800 page notebook for 50 cents. The same goes for laundry detergent. I'm sorry, but what the frack????? Dawn is like $2.00 and it lasts me 11 months. I'm so sick of this crap.

I gatta go, Walmart has a sale on notbooks.

Girls!

The time has come to say goodbye to the girls. Thats right folks, I'm getting a breast reduction. this has been a long time coming and something I've pondered for years, since high school.

Many people look at me like I'm a window licker when I say it was a really tough decision for me. They think it's so obvious...with boobs as big as mine, why wouldn't I get rid of them. I have no fear of surgery, the pain after which i've heard is pretty intense, scares me but it's not what made the decision difficult. It's hard to describe why it took so long to decide, I guess because they've been a part of me for almost all of my life. I'm also terrified I won't like what they look like and then I'm stuck with these uglies fun bags. But, I'm so over the pain and headaches that it has to be done.

I got a referral from a friend who had it done, she highly recommended a doctor at a plastic surgery office in Edina. I met with him about a week ago. I dragged my friend Cindy with me cuz my mom couldnt go. I needed someone to take notes and keep me from puking on the doctor's botoxed face. Measurments were done, pictures were taken...he showed me how they would do the procedure. No worries, I'm having the type where they leave your areola hanging on by a thread instead of removing it completely. Fun. This will allow ducts to stay in place so I can breast feed. This also means he can't remove a lot of the mass, so I'm limited in how small I can go. I wanted to go to a D which he said is doable, so that was relief. No staples, just dissolvable stitches. I'll have to wear tape on my incisions for 3 months and will be off of work for 2-3 weeks.

I did hit a speed bump in the process, insurance denied my claim, my doc couldnt believe it given how large my boobs are. So, I have to go to 6 weeks of physical therapy to prove that doesnt help. There are also some other medical things my doc needs to provide. So the timing of this has been delayed a bit. I now have to wait for a girl at work to get back from maternity leave. So the surgery will be in August or September sometime.

You still have a few months to sneak a peek (if you havent already). I already showed one of my friends husband's. May as well let them be seen since they'll be gone soon.

Restroom Guidelines

At work we having training classes almost every week and they last 3 days.  For some reason these bring the women with the most disgusting bathroom habits.  I wrote the following statement to be read by my co-worker who is a trainer at the beginning of each class.

Attention all females who plan on using the restrooms on the 9th floor while you attend class. If you would like to use are facilities the following rules apply:

**Flush the toilet, I am not sure what is difficult about this task but it is common courtesy unless you’re in a 3rd world country that does not have flushable toilets. And if you must flush the toilet with your shoe, please don’t leave rubber skid marks on the toilet. It looks weird.

**Do not leave “presents” in the toilet. I know it may be surprising to some of you, but other people who use the bathroom after you, may not like leftover turds. If it’s brown, flush it down.

**We are not aware of any sandboxes nearby our building, but many of you find them during break, fill your shoes with sand and then dump your shoes out on the bathroom floor. Don’t.

**If you can’t control yourself and MUST splash water all over the sink and counter, please wipe it up. We don’t wear rain gear when using the bathroom.

**Hair. Please look at the toilet and sink to make sure no hair was left behind. You’re gross.

**Smoking hasn’t been legal indoors in about 87 years therefore restroom wastebaskets should not be used as an ash tray.

**Speaking of wastebaskets, that is wear trash goes. Crazy concept I know. Leaving your trash on the back of the toilet is frowned upon.

**The bathroom is not a beauty parlor. A little touch up of your hair, makeup, etc. is fine but laying out your cosmetics and creating a cloud of hairspray is a bit much.

**Dear lord, if you know people will vomit from the smell that comes out of your body, please use a bathroom on any other floor but ours.

**Unrolling toilet paper and throwing it around the bathroom is completely moronic. Don’t do it.

As a general rule, take a looksie around before you leave the stall, it will save me from running you over with my car.

One for the Books....

Cooking club.  Something that was started last summer with me and 2 of my best girl friends Cindy and Mindy.  We also have an honorary member, Mark, my best guy friend.  Really, we let him in so we fill our diversity quota.  (he likes boys) A quick recap of cooking club...it's once a month, we switch houses each month, the host decides what they would like to be responsible for serving and divvies out the rest of the meal to the rest of us.  For example, the host really wants to try out a new dessert  so the others bring a main dish and appetizer.  The only rules are no duplicate recipes and no non-cooking club members allowed.

It was Cindy's turn this month and she chose fondue.  All four of us were there and we all brought different dippers.  Cindy made the fondues--cheese, broth and chocolate.  They were all delicious!  I die.  I don't know what it is about us, but when we get together the laughter that ensues is unbelievable.  One of us is usually grabbing our crotch in fear we may pee our pants.  Mark always has a napkin near by because once he gets laughing either food or liquid will come spewing out of his mouth.  It took us over 3 hours to eat and then we sat around and did our usual gossiping.  Mindy had to head back home, she lives in WI and had to get up early the next morning.  She heads out the door and almost fell right on her ass.  It was so icy out.  She decided to brave the weather and drive home.  I called her a couple times to make sure she was ok and she advised that we not drive home.  I told Mark the news, we looked at each other and said, "wanna make a drink?"

The sillyness continued, the drinks flowed and somehow the topic of the tv show the Jersey Shore came up.  Mark and Cindy don't watch it but knew enough and I filled in the empty spaces, because of course, if there's a trashy show on TV, this chick is watchin' it.  Cindy went upstairs and was gone for awhile, Mark and I continued our rambling and Cindy came down with a Jersey Shore bump going on in her hair.  It was hilarious!  That began the Jersey Shore makeover.  Mark curled my hair, the make up was brought out.  No bronzer?  No problem.  Just apply some brown eyeshadow.  It was tragic.  Then the pictures started.  Out of control.  And that, is how Sippi' Shore was started.

By 3am I was tired and not feeling very well.  I wasn't drunk by any means but something was not right. I ended up throwing up, a lot.  I think it was a combination of eating and drinking, I've been on my diet for a few weeks and I don't think my body was prepared for that.  Plus, now that I'm old, I hardly ever drink and I was trying to keep up with Mark, which is damn near impossible!  It was so weird.  I haven't thrown up forever.  After that, I was definitely ready for nuh-nite.  Woke up a few hours later and headed home.

Note to self...bring extra underwear for future cooking clubs in case of pissy pants from laughing.

The Anti-Christ....

also known as PCOS.  Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.  My Everest.

PCOS simply means a condition/disease in which a woman's hormones are out of balance.  I decided to blog about it because I hate it more and more each day and writing helps me deal with things.  Let me preface this blog by saying I am well aware that I am blessed, PCOS is very, very common and I could have something much worse.  I am grateful that this is what I have to deal with opposed to something more serious.  But, it's my blog and I can complain if I want to.

Symptoms that have effected me:
*Depression
Only for most of my 20's, I mean who wants to enjoy life anyway?

*Insulin resistance
This is a fun one.  What is it?  Insulin is a hormone secreted into your bloodstream by the pancreas.  After you eat, your blood glucose (sugar) rises and the pancreas responds by releasing insulin, which then transports the glucose into your body cells where it can be used as energy.  So, in my case, my cells don't open up and let the glucose and insulin in which means it's left in my body to be stored as fat.  The treatment for this is to take meds, not just any meds...pills the size of a donkey's ass.  I get to take 4 a day.  And sometimes, if I'm really lucky they make me incredibly nauseaus.  To the point that I take anti-nauseau meds they give to chemo patients.  There's also explosive diarrhea from the meds.  Awesome.  Told you it was fun!

*Skin tags
These bitches hurt like hell to get removed, I don't care what anyone says.  I just had something like 8 or 10 removed last year.  The best part is that once you cut them, new ones grow back elsewhere.

*Excessive pain in the lower abdomen and pelvis
This is my least favorite for obvious reasons.  Sometimes the pain is so unbearable, I don't think I'm ganna live.  Ok, so maybe I'm a little dramatic.

*Weight gain
Self explanatory.  Ass hat.

*Skin discolorations
This was so pretty when it happened to me.  I looked like a freakin alien.  I had a ring around my entire neck that was a greenish-black color.  People would always say, ooohh, I think your necklace is turning you neck colors.  Nope, not so much.  Just this fun little thing called PCOS.  It's actually a result of the insulin resistance, when there gets to be too much insulin roaming around in your body, it can turn your skin colors.  It has gone away since I started taking the meds which is super nice!  Alien is not a good look for me.

*Breathing problems while sleeping
Nothing big, I just stop breathing when I'm sleeping sometimes!

*Tiredness
I'm always tired, always.   This mostly has to do with my Vitamin D deficiency which is crazy low.  Another drug for that!

*Neck hump
It is sexy, sexy, sexy!  Doctors aren't sure it's directly linked to PCOS but it is common in people with PCOS.

*Ovarian cysts
These occur due to the fact that you have such an excess in hormones in your body, I'm not really sure what all happens but they attach to your ovaries.  Unless I would have doctors go in and take pics of my ovaries, I have no idea how many cysts I have or if they're there and when.  I did have one pop last year.  I had no idea what it was at the time and ended up in the emergency room.  I started with a really bad pain in my lower abdomen, couldn't sit, couldn't walk, very hard to breath.  I was so scared.  I always compare any pain I have to when I broke my tailbone, that is a 10 for me.  This was ranged between from a 9-10.  At one point an 11!  They gave me a shot of morphine which didn't touch it.  Then I had xrays, ultra sounds and the kicker an internal ultra sound (which by the by, I had my period).  Awesome.  All they could conclude was a cyst had burst.  The pain was still horrible so they gave me another shot of morphine...it didn't take the pain away either but I was so drugged up I didn't care!  I hope to never have to go through that again!

*Infertility
I have no idea if this will affect me since I've never been pregnant or tried to get pregnant.  I hope to Jesus that I don't have problems.  Although, it may not matter since I'll probably be too old to have kids soon.

Those are my symptoms...everyone has different ones, sometimes none at all.  More than likely I was born with PCOS and it stayed dormant for a very long time.  Truth be told, I probably would still be in the dark had I not gotten the ring around my neck checked out.  That's what made me go to the doctor.  I'm glad that I know about it and can now deal with it.  I'm back on my eating plan that's beneficial for people with insulin resistance and will start working out...when I feel like getting off my ass!  I'm down 8lbs in my first week back on plan...I love seeing those lbs go down on the scale.

Phew, I feel so much better after bitching about it!

Really?

This morning I was fast asleep and my phone rang...I have a tendency to answer it in my sleep so I don't know who's calling right away. Plus, I'm using an old phone that doesn't have any contacts in it. Anyways...

Caller: Hey!
Me: rarraereak;odjka;fmkd;la, grumble grumble yawn.
Caller: How are you?
Me: huh? yawn.
Caller: Were you sleeping?
Me: Who is this? Yawn. Yes I was captain obvious.
Caller: Oh...so you erased my number.
Me: Who is this?
Me: I have a hunch who this is, but it can't be, could it? I finally start to wake up and come out of my fog.
Me: Is this TGTBT?
Caller: Yes, you must've had a long night, you sound really tired.
Me: I'm sorry, is this really happening? I'm finally over you and you're calling me?
Me: Maybe he's in jail and needs me to bail him out.
Caller: How was your New Years?
Me: Good. Maybe I left something at his house
Caller: How was your Christmas?
Me: Good. Maybe his car broke down by my house and he needs me to help.
Caller: I was just thinking about you.
Me: Ok. Maybe he needs a babysitter.
Caller: Maybe we could get a drink sometime. It would be nice to see you.
Me: ummmm WTF is going on?
Caller: Give me a call it'd be nice to hear from you.
Me: Bye. Fucker

My Non-Resolution Resolutions

As mentioned in a previous post, I don't really make New Years resolutions, I never have. But, there are many things I'd like to accomplish and work on this year. I've made a couple "bucket lists" the last couple years and haven't made much head way on them, actually none to be exact. It's time for that to change. Life is short, time is precious, it's time to get off my ass and live my life!

First things first, the beginning of every year, I usually say that I'm going to quit smoking...no need for that because I already did! I wasn't a big smoker, more of a drinking smoker but it was a pesky, disgusting habit none the less. I decided enough was enough...in October I quit, cold turkey. It was sad, like losing a friend...isn't that weird? But holy shit it's so nice. It's hard, really hard, but I would like to not die and not break my mom's heart any longer. So, do svydania!

My cool friend Cindy and I made some lists of what we'd like to do, work on, etc. this year. I heard that by putting goals in writing they are more likely to come true. I'm hoping it works. Some of my things are little, some a little bigger. Some are down right funny. But, here's my list. I'm sure the list will grow and change but it's a good starting place.

*Floss more
*Start going to dentist again--how I quit going is still a mystery
*Brush Jesse more (he's a cat, not my boyfriend)
*Learn to play guitar--this is something I've wanted to do for many years now, I've decided this is the time
*Start boxing--this falls right in line with playing guitar, something I've always wanted to do
*Go skydiving
*Volunteer--this should be on everyone's list
*Take a cooking class
*Work on my relationship with God and Jesus
*Go to the shooting range--watch out bitches
*Go off my anxiety meds
*Become re-dedicated to my health
*Let people know I care about them more
*Get a new car--this is a end of year/early 2011 task
*Let go of bitterness I hold toward certain people

Here's to a glorious 2010! Keep it real people!

Happy New Year!!

I have been such a bad blogger...no more my friends. I don't make New Years resolutions but I will be a better blogger in 2010. My purpose in starting this blog was for it to be like a journal, something electronic I could look back and reflect on over the years. Hard to reflect when I don't write anything. So my goal is to blog at least once a week. Lord knows I have enough to say!

2009 ended with a lot of memories with friends and family. Christmas Eve was spent with my mom, I sleep overnight there every year...we make dinner, play games and usually sit around and talk with my little brothers. We wake up Christmas morning to monkey bread, egg bake, stockings and gifts. It's the same tradition every year and I love it. I certainly hope my future husband is ok with spending the night at my mom and step-dad's Xmas eve because I'm not giving that up! (Poor guy, wherever he is, has no idea what's in store for him) Usually Christmas Day I'll head to my dad's but the weather didn't allow me to make it this year which was really a bummer. But my anxiety ridden ass was not about to drive in my deathmobile through the snowmaggedon. I definitely missed everyone there this year!

New Years Eve was pretty low key this year, which turned out for the best. I went to dinner at Manny's in DT mpls with 2 of my besties...Cindy and Mark. We had a wonderful dinner and then headed to a bar for some after dinner drinks. Of course my gay husband had a night of tricks up his sleeve so we sent him on his way which left Cindy and I a little undecided about what to do. After a lot of contemplation we picked up some champagne and headed back to my place. I couldn't have asked for anything better. We spent the night laughing and talking...perfect way to ring in the New Year.

Can't say I'm really sad to see 2009 go...there were ups and downs, tears and laughter, but I know that my best is yet to come. So the closer I can get to that, the happier I am!
