Summer Salad

Summer means it's time for my favorite salad.  There is a more complicated recipe for this salad but I choose not to take that route.   Toast some almonds, I just throw them in a pan and heat for a few minutes.  You don't need to add anything to make them toast because they have enough oil in themselves.  Chop some strawberries,  Chop some red onion.  Take some lettuce, whatever kind you'd like...I use the spring mix, it has spinach and some other green crap.  Combine all ingredients and add poppyseed dressing.  I would eat this everyday, 12 times a day if I could.  But...poppyseed dressing isn't the healthiest dressing--if one even exists.

To get me thru the day...

I've been thinking about all the things I'm looking forward to in the coming weeks/months.

*My first Twins game at the new stadium this week.  I got tickets through work and got to pick the game I wanted to go to, I of course picked one versus the Yankees.  It's on Thursday so I took Friday off of work which gives me a 4 day weekend for memorial day. I found out one of my besties is also going to the game so it should be a very fun game.  I do believe McDonald's has some good seats!
*Going to see Sex and the City 2 this Friday.  I'm going by myself during the day, I can not wait!  If you aren't aware, I was quite obsessed with the show back in the day and know the all the episodes by heart.  I'm pretty sure it drives my friends nuts.
*Flea market this Saturday.  There is a flea market in Elko that my mom and I have gone to for years.  It's so awesome, a lot of shit to sift through but you can find that gem.
*It's my last week of physical therapy...even though I have like going because it is a good workout, I'm relieved to have to deal with it anymore.
*My 5k in June, assuming I can still do it which also happens to be the same day as my awesome cousin Emily's graduation party.
*Keg stands at Emily's grad party.
*Friendship Days, with my dad owning the bar this year, I have a feeling it's going to be a crazy, long weekend.  I only took Friday off but am thinking I'm going to regret not taking Monday off.  Eek.
*4th of July trip with my mom's family, I can not wait to go to Woman Lake and do nothing but lay out, drink and laugh!  We'll be there for an entire week, all the bikers will ride during the day and the people that have common sense will stay back and enjoy the quietness.
*Pedal pub at the end of July...it should be highly comical.
*My boobie surgery...please pray it gets approved and I can't wait to get rid of these bags.

Bring it on summer!  I'm blessed! I need a nap now.

Sunday Blahday

It's suppose to be Sunday Funday....my friend Cindy and I decided that Sundays this summer would consist of laying out at my pool, reading, and relaxing.  Today was suppose to be the first one, I was so excited considering I look albino.  But no, it's dreary, grey and gross out.  Hot, muggy, gross.  So, I've been cooped up in my apartment all day, I literally haven't done a thing besides watch TV, nap, and play on the computer.  I am officaly the laziest person on earth.  Maybe that's why I have a fupa.

So, I've had some time to reflect on a few things.

1.  Why does everyone think Gisele Benkdajfhdio;ajfd (Bündchen) is so hot?  I don't get it, I never have.  Does she have an amazing, fupaless body?  Yes.  But put a bag on her head and call it a day.
2.  Watching the Jersey Shore does make you dumber.
3.  I put decorations up yesterday for my friend Cindy's birthday party and I kinda like them.  I think I'll leave them up.
4.  I haven't felt the same since my heart "episode" and think I should make a will.  I've had nothing but weird ailments since it happend.  Please don't forget, I want to be stuffed, not buried or cremated.
5.  Physical therapy has not made my boobs smaller or made my neck feel better or lesesn my headaches.
6.  Speaking of headaches, they are the anti-christ and I am happy to not have one today, it's been a long week of bad headaches. I need to buy an icepack, homeade ones leak.

K, bye.

Ses!

My little Ses or Seth to most people, is 17 years old and attended his first prom last weekend.  I managed to not cry, unlike his 16th birthday when I wept like a baby.  He looked so handsome and his date was gorgeous!  Watching him pose for pictures, so many memories flooded through my head, it's amazing how fast my brothers have grown up...meanwhile I don't feel like I've aged a bit.

I know to Seth, I'm just his weird, annoying, obnoxious, weird, goofy sister but to me, he's my Ses.  I don't have favorites when it comes to my younger brothers, I love them both so much but I have different bonds with each of them.  My mom had Seth when I was 14, we had just moved to Boston and I didn't know my ass from my face.  Seth was the light of my life, I formed a bond with him when we lived there that has never gone away. Unknowingly, he has helped me through some of the toughest times in my life.  He'll always be my little Ses, even if he gets married before me.

I'd like to wish a happy birthday to my ex-boyfriend...

I hope you have herpes and elephantitis of the balls.

Alright...Where to Start?

I had a list going of blogs I wanted to write once I got back to blogging, but of course I can't find it.  I'm sure it was all very important, mind blowing, world changing topics but since I can't find it, I'll talk about something even better...me attempting to become a runner. If you're anything like my mother, you just fell off your chair.  I'll give you a second to pick yourself up off the floor.

I don't even know how this came about...I think because one of my friends, Kelly, ran the Princess Half Marathon in Disney this year and she said she absolutely loved it.  I was amazed at this feat, like my friend Camille says..."why run that far unless you're being chased."  That's the motto I've lived by for a long time.  I dabbled in running in college and didn't mind it, but after college was done so was running.  I had been looking for something to get involved in and wanted something that would keep me active.  I just decided one day, I'm ganna start running and my main goal would be the Disney Half Marathon. It was weird, something in me just clicked and I knew it was going to be my "thing."

I of course was scared shitless, so many things going through my mind; I can barely get up off the couch, how am I going to RUN 13.1 miles?  I'm so overweight, how the hell can I make my body run?  What happens when my boobs start  knocking me the face while running and give me bruises, do I admit that to people or say I have an abusive boyfriend?  I decided I'd go with the abusive boyfriend, no one would stare at my chest when I told them that.  Anyways...I was assured I could do it from Kelly who said that she's never been a "runner" and if she can do it so can I.  I figured I had a year to train and that should be plenty.  For a half marathon in February, I'd need to start training in November.  I would start slowly, get my body use to exercising and being active, do a 5k over the summer, have my breast reduction in August, recover, go back to exercising and then start the official training in November.  My mother advised that I start the couch to 5k program or C25K for all you followers out there.  And so, I drank the Kool-Aid.

I started the C25K in March, it's 9 weeks of training, starting with just running a minute at a time and on your last day running a 5k.  You do 3 training sessions a week, with a day of rest in between.  I planned it perfectly so my last day of training would be the 5k I decided to run.  It's for the Make Wish Foundation and happened to be at the very lake I walk at right by my house.  Perfect.  I got a iPod Nano for my birthday, bought my Nike+ and I was good to go.  I was so nervous to start, I thought there would be NO way I could even run a minute.  I was amazed at how well I did.  Minus my pants constantly falling down, my ear phones falling out, and my boobs scaring people.  I now wear shorts that don't fall, bought new headphones that stay on and my boobs?  Well, they always scare people.  I made it to my 2nd session in week 5 last week and then had a heart episode so I have to take a break until I have a stress test.  But, I made it through every single session and I never stopped during any of the times I was running.  I was so proud of myself.  Now, it kinda sucks, I'm off this week and next, hoping that I get the ok next week to start again.  I hope to god I can catch up and do my 5k in June or I'll be so bummed.  Wish me luck!

I definitely dont have time to blog at work nor would I cross that line if I did, and it's a pain to type blogs on my phone! I'm trying to save money so Internet and cable went bye bye. But, I decided i just cant live without Internet and will be getting it back very soon. Just have to figure out a time i can sneak away from work so I can be home during the 62 hour time frame they give as to when they'll arrive to install it.
